When a rep from the Travel Channel contacted me yesterday to ask if I'd post a blurb on an incredible opportunity for three women, I almost didn't bite. After all, they're looking for women 35-45 years of age, which is slightly younger than the boomer demographic and excludes yours truly - at 52 - from going for it myself!

Then I thought, what the heck, why be stingy with our younger readers? Besides, maybe the Travel Channel will come to see the value in spotlighting women in the 45 - 65 age bracket. Because we're articulate, attractive and vibrant, too. And WE are the gals spending the big bucks in the travel industry, baby!

Thanks for indulging my little rant. Now, here's the pitch:

Travel Channel is seeking 3 girlfriends, ages 35-45, to take a wonderful European cruise with Royal Caribbean! Attractive, articulate and vibrant girlfriends should apply if interested in being filmed while taking an all-expense-paid trip to various exciting ports in Europe including Barcelona, Madrid, Cannes, Livorno, Naples, Rome and Venice. The trip takes place from October 15 – October 27th and all parties applying must be available for the entire voyage. Please apply with your girlfriends- only entries with three candidates will be considered.
